I Want a Wii Fit

We had a Wii in this house the day they came out. (We stood in line at 3 a.m. during a rain storm before the store opened but we got it first man.) Wii is the most fun game I’ve ever played with my kids. We are Wii fans for sure. And now the company’s come out with the Wii Fit. It’s an exercise program for the electronic game system. I want it.  I am sure I will love it….but I just found out from my resident Nintendo expert that the Wii Fit DISPLAYS YOUR WEIGHT ON THE SCREEN.

Aw hail no.

I’m told you can cheat a little. The Wii Fit asks you to calculate the weight of the clothes you’re wearing while Wii Fitting. It then subtracts the weight you estimated for your clothes from your actual weight. Maybe I could tell it my clothes weigh 37 pounds. Or maybe I hide the weight display with a piece of duct tape?

So yeah, there are few obstacles  to me and the Wii Fit. And honestly if the people at Nintendo would have asked I would have told them that American women do NOT want their weight displayed on the screen. In fact I suggest for Wii Fit Version 2.0 Nintendo allows us enter a real weight for fitness plan purposes but than also allows you to designate a DISPLAY WEIGHT to our liking. The Display Weight would appear on the screen if anyone happens to see you Wii Fitting. Now that would be a best seller.

But I still want a Wii Fit. Anyone else?

I still want one…soo curious what they’re like.

now to find a sugarmama who was also organized enough to sign
    up for one!

I JUST told my husband YESTERDAY that I was investigating an investment opportunity. (I was watching the Wii Fit videos) We don’t have a Wii at all yet, so this would be a bit more of an investment for us. But damn it looks fun. I kick major butt at baseball on the Wii (I hang wit my 10 year old cousin frequently just to play her games.)

But I totally agree with the weight display thing. I would have to hide out just to work out. My husband has never known my true weight. He was even gentlemanly enough to avert his gaze whenever we went to the OB while I was pregnant!! What a man!

dude, ever her furniture looks kick ass. gotta get one of those

  4. well, i might have wanted one — until you told me that it shows your weight on the screen.

that’s a deal breaker for me, LOL!

  5. Kiki says:

MizFit – Make sure the Sugamama has enough for both of us plz.
Angela – Does your spouse know what you weigh… that’s a whole post right there.
furiousball – see? that’s what I’m saying.. it all works on me
slouching mom – I’ll let you know if the duct tape idea works otherwise I’d have to shoo everyone out the house

  6. I don’t want one. I want more stuff about Chad…that is enough exercise for this ol mama.

  7. Jenny says:

    Got mine today! WHEE!

  8. Greta says:

Working on Chad post as we speak. It’ll be up by morning. The photo is hanging me up.

  9. Kyddryn says:

I might like to try one, but I’m not sure it would survive – how much weight can it bear before it starts to whimper and crawls away?

We just scored a Wii Fit yesterday, and I posted about it. I’ll be updating readers once I give birth and am actually able (willing?) to exercise. I didn’t know my weight would be displayed though . . . eeks.

  11. mamatulip says:

It puts your weight up on the screen? God. It’s bad enough when the Wii Fitness Test tells me I’m 98.

  12. Kiki says:

Back Feels and Traction Heals Anyone? And I think I just won my own (mind) contest to name the Chad saga.
Jenny I want a report from you if you like it.
Mep pregnancy doesn’t count AND LOL Jenny on the whimper and crawl away.
mamtulip.. I hate when electronic games berate me as well.

  13. Greta says:

Kiki, you win. You just gotta help me out with the photo issue(check your email).

  14. “Aw hail no” is my new official catchphrase. Thank you!

  15. Obviously Nintendo employs no women. Even the fit ones wouldn’t want their weight displayed!

Like anyone but my gynecologist knows my weight!

  16. Kiki, me again – I was just over at my bro’s blog – he just got a wii fit! Here’s his link if you want to see what he thinks.

  17. Kiki says:

I’d love it if ‘aw hail no’ becomes a catch phrase. My husband is sure he started ‘rat bastard’ but I doubt it.

And thanks annbb! I’ll check out the blog.

  18. Mama Zen says:

What kind of cruel and unusual is that?

  19. HRH says:

My husband has it all planned out how I am going to be in line at the store with my three boys on the morning that it is released. Nice of him isn’t it?

I am on board with the wii…we only neglect it for Rock band.

  20. Michelle says:

I’m not scared — sounds like motivation to me!

  21. Kiki says:

Mama Zen I supposed it’s like Michelle says… for motivation. I just don’t want everyone to see!

And HRH husbands like to plan.It really bugs me. I want Rock Band too since I also like me some Guitar Hero.

  22. Saucy says:

We also got a Wii on the very first day and I find Guitar Hero to be physically challenging enough! I only saw the fit at for the first time today. I don’t get enough video games, so I might get one.

  23. Kiki says:

Hey Saucy.. welcome. I loved your blog. Check ‘er out gang.

  24. MizFit says:

‘Aw HAIL no’ always reminds me of chris tucker…

  26. Cathy C says:

I love my WII fit – It is alot of fun and I felt it the next day in areas that I normally do not feel it in. It is fun and interactive and does work.. As like all “F” plans you will get out of it what you put into it. This one is fun.

    Cheers
