A Hump Day Quickie: Zafu is My New Mother
Ok, here’s what. I love my mother. But, I have a skinny mother. A skinny mother who is always perfectly coiffed and perfectly pulled together and is basically the envy of all the other mothers (or grandmothers at this point).
I hate shopping with my mother.
Sometimes, I have no choice. Why? ‘Cuz I have little chitlins’ who can’t stay home by themselves and I use up my mom for “traditional” babysitting when I workety-work. Ergo, to get her to watch the kids for frivolous stuff like, oh shopping for clothes, I often have to bring my mother with me. She likes to shop. It’s how she stays put together. Apparently, you have to keep buying new clothes.
Ugh.
Jean shopping is the worst. I think the devil invented it. Truly. Jean shopping with my mother?? Um…did I mention I love my mother
Ok. So enough backstory. Today I found this (when googling around for 1950s fad diets for a “whole nutha” blog post). It’s like trying jeans on online! Nirvana! The heavens are opening. Good is defeating evil y’all!

You plug in your jeans preferences. They tell you what jeans you should buy! No. Way! Has anyone tried this? Does it work? Please tell me it works. Don’t make me go jean shopping with my mother again. {cries} Puhlease!

I have no idea if it works but I know from experience that I have to try on a bazillion pairs because even the same cut and style can fit different. I hate having to return something worse than having to try it on.
for some reason I dont heart the zafu!
perhaps because Im not too too short but my inseam is microscopic?
I just dont wear the denim much and, living where I do in the land of sweat & humidity, it works out ok.
happy hump day!
I have about 25 pairs of jeans right now. I think I can fit into 2 pair. I just need to get myself on the treadmill more. Maybe I can fit into three more…but those GAP ones on the top are good. Highly recommend them. Not mom-jeans, but not too low either…
Have you tried True Jeans? You put in your measurements, they tell you what brands would fit you best. Although I think they tend to push the higher end denim, so your checking account better be healthy.
i usually embarrass my mom when jean shopping. i insist on doing a robert plant back bend kind of thing to make sure my package looks good in them. i usually accompany it with a line from Rock N’ Roll or Black Dog
I have one pair of jeans that I like right now. That said there’s no belting or tucking in involved in my jeans look.
and furiousBall that’s a whole lotta love right there
I am wearing my fav jeans right now. I will cry and call all my friends over for a wake when they die. I have a pot ready for them with a pretty flower to put their ashes in.
They make my arse look 10 pounds lighter. They are AWESOME!
Love it so far! I am a shopping addict and have about 20 pairs of jeans and can’t help but think, I need more.
And apparently I have some really expensive taste…
Well, I can’t tell you if it works or not, but I inputed all my info and it gave me three different brands of jeans it said would work for me. The first one was Avenue denim leggings (UM, NO), then Lee Riders, and then Gloria Vanderbilt something or others. I have kind of an odd shape, so it’s hard to find jeans that are comfortable. My legs are too small/thin for my body, so if I find jeans that fit me in the waist/hips, the legs usually look like clown pants. Plus I have a flat butt, so the extra material back there is always attractive. The Lee Riders had a tapered leg, so they might work. Of course, this is all hypothetical, because why would I buy jeans in Arizona in June?
Yeah, I don’t know.
But have you heard of myshape.com?
One shopping experience with them so far but I LURVED IT.
Seriously.
I don’t know if this works, but you can certainly check it out.
Flicker is really great when sharing photos over friends and families. I love the resize feature of Flickr.~*:
Happy Mother’s Day to all.-.*
