Liz ... that was deep.

I am a fan of the healthy lifestyle as is Blake and understand it takes great effort, as Mizfit pointed out. I, like Julie, am ex-obese and it was a complete overhaul of diet and exercise habits to get down. I'm still not down to where I should be, but I definitely see a difference from where I was a few years ago.

It's no easy. Some have to work harder than others. But it's like school. Everyone can get A's. It will just take work and dedication. And yes... some will have to study more than others. Later today, I will start a tutorial for having success with a healthy lifestyle, even when friends won't let you. It's all about baby-steps... It's about changing one or two habits at a time and not moving forwards until they have been mastered. The tutorial will be at the site listed below.

A healthy lifestyle is the way to go. Diets do not work. They merely make us believe they are effective and we forget to realize we gain weight back as soon as we resume regular eating. Some of these diets have also been linked to health issues. And no... surgery is probably not the answer either.

Great post, Rebecca.

Great comparisons! What's really cool is that it is 100% possible to (mostly) switch from being a dieter to living the healthy lifestyle.

I would add:
Healthy lifestylers recognize special events (birthdays/major holidays) and celebrate them appropriately.
Dieters celebrate birthdays & major holidays, along with other special events, like catching all green lights on the way to work or walking to the mailbox and back. (Or was that just me?*G*)

I'm an ex-obese person, and I do healthy lifestyle. I wouldn't go near a diet for anything. It never worked for me, just made me binge.
