The Day Before Diet

6

thanksgivingToday I’m feeling like Thanksgiving eating is not the problem. I’m feeling like the day before Thanksgiving is the problem. I know I’m going to eat tomorrow so why not just eat today. Flarg it!

Ok…so here’s what I’m doing. Here is my pre-Thanksgiving resolution/committment/manifesto. I’ll let you know how it goes.

1.  Thanksgiving is ONE day. I can eat what I want for ONE day and not feel guilty about it.

2. I shall not make Thanksgiving TWO days by scarfing preparatory handfuls of cookie dough and/or pecan pie batter  (and my friends, I sooooooo want to).

3. I shall stick with my Smart Ones/Healthy Choice/Lean Cuisines for today.

4. It’s all going to be ok.

Mercy!

Yeah but then who will eat the “too big” french fried onion rings out of the can so they don’t clunk up the green bean casserole? I had those and diet coke for lunch today.

I think, anyway. That was two pies and lots of other prep work and hours ago. I don’t quite remember.

The thing I hate about the Day Before is all the pre-cooking and nothing ready to eat for dinner after all that.

Also? While I am whining? I HATE that you have that huge meal and a few hours later everybody is hungry AGAIN and looking at you like you should be able to put another meal together CHEERFULLY when mostly I don’t ever want to step into my kitchen again for about a week.

OK. I feel better now. As you were!

I didn’t have any interest in stuffing myself yesterday, ate a late dinner so now I’m not bothering with much breakfast. I probably won’t eat that much tomorrow, either. Maybe since I don’t like stuffing, don’t like pie, barely like gravy, my eating likely won’t be too outrageous today. I have been making sure to keep exercising, and now I’m off to zumbia, before I’m off to big meal.

    Be thankful, everyone!

Again, I have read a post too late. Had I enjoyed your post when it was written, maybe I’d have been more reasonable. *sigh*

I did better over the past weekend than I have been when I’ve I was REALLY trying. Besides Thanksgiving dinner, I was at my friend’s house eating Jambalaya and Shrimp bisque cooked New Orleans style. I still lost a pound.

    Go figure.
