Hitting the Wall

10

I believe I’ve hit the proverbial wall. It perhaps started–at least mentally– when I realized that I’ve only lost a net total of 1 pound for all of 2008. Sobering. And then, in an attempt to expand our networking prowess, I signed DTBMULF on facebook. (Please join us, see the badge on the lower left of your screen). I have now been fully assimilated by the Facebook borg. Resistance was futile.

So now, not only am I against the diet wall, I’m blog-blocked. I’m also addicted to geo challenge on facebook.  It’s a little geography test application thingy (for serious).  This is important, because although I’m out of ideas of how to get ten pounds off, I am expanding my knowledge of flags, maps, landmarks and country capitals.

Note to my blog-partner, Rebecca:  This will be useful. Trust me. When we go on our multi-country book tour, you’re going to want to know that South America has a big giant hole in it. Without me, to guide you, you might step in it. Also…Iceland, Greece and Ireland are surprisingly similar-looking. You could totally get lost.

So anyway, to recap…I’m feeling fat again with no end in sight and I have writer’s block. But…I’m currently ranked 45th in my city on Geo Challenge. My goal is to to be #1. Some dude named Phillipart’s keister shall be mine soon. And…it’s all relevant because someday I’m really going to need to know the difference between the national flag of Estonia vs. Tanzania. You watch.

geo bit by you.

P.S. And I bested my score by 2,000 points just after taking this screen shot. I also ate cookie dough.

Nooooo, it’s too early to hit a wall. It’s all in the blog archives, we are not scheduled to crash and burn until mid March or so… so sayseth the diet masters. What do they know. I fell off the wagon last week but here I am… back… on the wagon… I brought bbq chips.

  2. Come on, hon, we can do this. I lost a net total of 2.5 lbs so we are in virtually the same boat. Let’s get cracking and get losing!

Ok. I had an oatmeal bar for breakfast. It was 220 calories so I’m calling it 3 points. I bought some Lean Cuisines ‘cuz I’ll be at work until 9:30 tonight. I’m hangin in. Gah!

Oh how I’ve missed having the time to read your blog on a daily basis. But I am so happy to see that it is as humorous and entertaining as always! I hope to become a regular again!

Doing all that mental exercise should burn some calories, don’t you think? I am addicted to Scramble on FB. And FB itself is quite addicting.

As for hitting the wall, put on the boxing gloves and challenge it to a geography duel. You can beat it!

Never give up! Just take a moment to re-think your strategy, make changes if you need to, then get your mind back in the game, okay?

Think of the wall as that friend you have who always talks yo into doing something “fun” that you both regret later and enjoy telling stories about.

Because seriously, you can’t be strict with yourself all the time (or so I have heard).

If your body reads your blog (IE) and gets wind of your weight loss plans, it will begin to convert the air in your mouth to fat. IMMEDIATELY.

So relax and enjoy the knowledge that your mastery of Geo Challenge is “enough” of an accomplishment for a few days.

Hello! I found you by way of Twitter and I’m so glad I did! I haven’t yet checked out your whole blog, but what I see, the two of you and the two of us have a lot in common! I’ve added you to my reader, so I’ll be checking you out on a regular basis.

Yours in dieting (and blogging and Tweeting),

Did I type in my blog address wrong? What a rookie move. It’s correct now. Sorry.
