The Cockapoo Workout (a/k/a Cockapoo-lates)
The Good News: I’m doing Winsor Pilates. Everyday of the week. Next week, I’m getting my treadmill back in the basement. 4 days a week of walking/running with Pilates EVERY day. That is my goal. This was my pilates reality.
First, a little background. I’ve got an 8 month old cockapoo puppy. Her name is Sofie. She’s a bit of a loveable idiot, like most puppies. Anyhoo, she was very intrigued when I laid on the floor and started making my socks move around. Before you even hit the send comment button…I tried putting her in her crate. She just whined and barked because she could see me the whole time. I tried putting her outside, but it was raining. So, there we were. I decided to make the best of it and actually came out of it w/ a more intense workout.
1.) Pilates 100 – puppy lunges for fingers and licks them as you pump them toward the floor (good for core strengthening, balance, moisturizing effects of dog slober)
2.) Rolling Like a Ball – puppy lunges for socks, leaps on top of your stomach as you attempt to roll back up (intense core strengthening, can increase resistence by getting progressively bigger dogs)
3.) Criss-Cross – puppy again lunges for socks (as above, good for core strengthening)
4.) Spine Stretch Forward – puppy curls up between your knees thinking it’s nap time (good for proper spinal positioning…Winsor says imagine a beach ball between your legs…you don’t have too, you have a Cockapoo Ball)
5.) The Seal – Ok, at this point, the puppy just looks at you like you’re bat shizzle crazy. Your socks (if they’re even still on) are toast. (Good for…well, pretty much just comic relief)
Repeat the above at least 3 times per week and you will have a happy puppy, rockin’ hard abs, and no socks.

How cute is that pic? And the name of your blog (not to mention this post) cracks me up!
Your puppy is toooo cute! I want that workout.
My dog does the same thing when I do yoga and pilates at my house. Once I even got up to grab some water and she brouht pieces of her food over to my mat, dropped them there, and walked away-almost like she was “calling spots” on my mat!!
I can’t help but laugh when she does it-especially the downward facing dog and upward facing dog-those are her faves!
Not that I’m totally impressed, but this is more than I expected when I found a link on Furl telling that the info is awesome. Thanks.
