I try not to use the scale even though I do have one in the bathroom. I was told once that you should weigh once a week. I found that to be depressing.

I find that clothes are a good way to know where I am with the weight thing. Also, for everyone that has midnight snacks in their rooms, that's a big NO-NO. My husband likes to have a late night snack and then there's the dog. So I have to fight to give in.

Down fall with me is vacations. About 3 to 4 years ago I'm kept track of every calorie we ate along with what ever else the nutritionist wanted to know. When we went to a family reunion that year we did good. But the next year when we had a house fire, I noticed that it all went out the window. We're almost back where we started. OUCH!!!

Ever felt like if you look @ food you'd gain weight???

I have OCD when it comes to scales. For example if I am on vacation and there is a scale in the bathroom I will weigh myself 25 times a day. Seriously.
After going to the bathroom, get on the scale. Take of my clothes, get on the scale. Put on my clothes, get on the scale. Put on shoes, get on the scale. Take off shoes, get on the scale. Come back from dinner, get on the scale. Do I weigh more wet or dry? Shower, get on the scale. You get the idea.

So I don't own a scale at home; rather, a tape measure. That way, the only one that can "cheat" is me. Suck it in, girl!

I have an old (cranky) scale that hates me. I discovered depending on where I place my feet, I can make it show 5-6 pounds more - or less.

Do I trust that or use it to bolster my spirits? Naah. I just can't. I mostly use my clothes and my eyes on myself in the mirror to establish which direction I'm heading weight wise. Which is not good news at the moment but warmer weather will help (says me to me)...

Any loss is a good loss, so good for you!
I have a love/hate relationship with my scale too. And lately it hasn't been showing me any love. Do they weigh you at Jenny? I get weighed in at WW, which I use for official purposes, and hit my own scale (every day, which is bad I know) just to keep track.
I do also keep a pair of old jeans that are way too big now to remind myself of how far I've come on the days that the scale is just not cooperating.

Me don't like the scale either, I use my jeans/dresses as my scale. If I look like a stuffed sauage, then it's time to lose a few pounds. Cheers to YOU!!!
