I have lost exactly 90 pounds since July of 2010. I hit that weight earlier this year in January ,so 90 lbs in roughly six months.
The diet was easy - got rid of regular pop (was drinking close to a six pack a day. Changed to Coke Zero, and now I'm pretty much off of it - water/tea only). Watched my portions, stopped the late night snacking.
Plus a whole ton of exercise. Joined Lifetime Fitness, and a three day a week Team Fitness class, 14 week course.

I've just finished losing 33 pounds, the most ever. I'm a bit below goal now. (I got to goal once before, but didn't have to lose this much to do it.) This time is different. I finally "got it". It's not a diet, it's a lifestyle change. The New Momentum plan came along and Core went away, as well as my reliance on keeping track in my head. I hated tracking and said I could never do it and wouldn't do it. When I saw Book 1 of the Momentum plan, and compared the 4 point breakfasts, I decided I COULD do it. It would be worth it, and it has been. I lost those 33 pounds since the first week in December with 3 tools: Tracking, Weighing and Measuring, and making the Best Choice for me whatever the situation, Sometimes the best choice for me is having a dessert so I won't feel deprived, sometimes it's not having the dessert. When going out to dinner, I make the best choice for me on the menu. I've been delighted that the best choices are often very tasty. I still don't have portion control down, that's why I need to weigh and measure. But Tracking has become an obsession, and it really works. I always figured that as you got older, the weight was harder to take off. It isn't. It's just that our habits are more ingrained. I'm 62 years old, and to lose 30 pounds in 5 months I think is AMAZING. I'm even walking 2 to 3 miles every day now and I'm so much more healthy. I got rid of my fat clothes as they became too big for me because I know I'll never need them again. I even blew past the "skinny" clothes I had stashed away. So, you can and will press on. It's totally worth it, especially for your health, both short term and long term.

I lost 63 lbs and managed to keep 53 of them off for going on 5 years!! Feels great and I will never go back to the weight I was. I will always bounce around with 10 lbs or so but that is OK with me! After all food never tastes as good as thin feels!!!
