Back to School Diet
Today, I’m posting something from our DTBMULF “Greatest Hits” archive. We’re all in Back-to-School crazy land so I know you’ll understand. I posted this a year ago and promptly forgot about it. The baby in question is now a first grader, still raring to go school and thoroughly cheesing off her mother by refusing to actually STAY a baby!
My baby went to all day kindergarten today. My last baby. She’s wittle and teeny and still sleeps with the same blankie I wrapped her in when I brought her home from the hospital. Iam still wrapped in the same muffin top I had when I brought her home from the hospital (see…I can still segway to diety goodness, even during my meltdown!) Update: I have lost 15 lbs since this was originally posted. The muffin top has experienced shrinkage.
She was confident and happy when she went. But before that, I overheard her talking to her big brother this morning. She asked him (in the softest tone I’ve ever heard her use), “Is it fun in all day kindergarten?”
He gave her a big hug and said, “It’s veryfun. They have legos and snack time. And I’ll come and check on you when I go to recess.”
Caution: Please do not slip on the melted puddle of Robin at your feet.
My baby is out in the world. I know it’s time for me to send my muffin top off as well. Right now, I seriously want to eat a honey bun to for comfort. I had a Carb Well fudge caramel bar instead. Update: See above for weight loss outcome…but bottom line, my baby and I have made it…so far…
Crikey and urghh!

she’ll be fine probably

Ba ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!! If I eat a honeybun, it’s on you
I SO remember my first day of K. So exciting! She will be AOK…and so will you! Hopefully she’ll have as cool a teacher as I did and do experiments like sticking celery stalks in red-dyed water and learning about osmosis by watching the celery “drink” the water. Loved that~

My daughter (a sophomore in high school) still keeps her baby blanket in her bed. I suppose there’s a little kid left in all of us.
A little kid who wants to eat ice cream all day too.

Oh Greta, I know exactly where you’re at. I went through the same thing a month ago when we started school. My lil’est baby, in all-day K! She loves it though…and I’ll bet yours will too. (((Hugs)))

Awwww.. kudos for choosing the right “comfort” food for the stresses of Big K day! It’s tuff to watch them grow up, yet there is a small sense of accomplishment that comes with these steps!
Keep making that muffin top smaller!
When my son started pre-K We pulled up to the parking lot. A long long way from the school since every other mother was there dropping her babies off. My son unbuckled his seat belt and then pronounced. Ok mommmy see you later I go to school now. I was like “wait, I get to walk you in since we have never even been to this school before except to walk in to register him.
