Two Year Anniversary and Ripa Arms Giveaway
On the first day we weighed our diet books. They weighed 35 pounds.
Over the last two years we gave lost our weight in diet books and gained it and lost it. Such is life. Diets come and go but the laughs about lightening up up remain. Every single day more terrific people come giggle with us about dieting and exercise and we thank you.
To show our appreciation to you we’ve got another contest.
The lovely people responsible for the Ripa Arms pictured above sent Rebecca a copy of the Physique 57 DVD for her upcoming birthday.(And because she begged.) We’re pretty sure we’re going to be smokin’ hot after we do this video. We’re going to do it for the first time today and we’ll let you know how it goes. As a thank you to you for Laughing it Off with us everyday just leave a comment and we’ll randomly select one person to win the very same video we got here! (Generously provided by the toned people at Physique 57 for our readers.)
Here’s how you enter: Tell us your goal for 2010. Our goal is to grow our Laugh if Off Letter, shrink our problem areas, but most importantly lighten up about lightening up everyday this year. Win, Lose or Gain.
We’ll pick a winner in a week on January 27, that’s a Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m. EST. Good luck – what are your goals for 2010?

First…congratulations! I read recently that most blogs only last 6 months, so you two are beating the odds!
My goals this year…
1.stop doing so much for other people so I can do more for my family,
2.exercise at least 30 minutes at least three days a week,
3.lose ten pounds and
4 keep my commitment to write a blog post every day for a year.
So far numbers one and four are going well. The other two, as always, need work!
Love your blog – congrats! My goal for 2010 . . . survive my 50th (ACK!) birthday.
Gayle´s last blog ..The Joy of Not Losing It
I can’t wait to hear what you thought of the DVD. Saw your recent tweet so I’m assuming the DVD is legit!! (in terms of getting you those ripa arms!)
My main goals this year putting myself first, losing weight in a sustainable manner (which I am accomplishing!!), run in 6 (dare I say ‘or more’ races), swim in something competitive, go on a cruise
, take the GREs (I’m studying slash very nervous lol), and to read more! (currently reading a prayer for Owen meany which I’ve read before but don’t really recall the plot).
Cheers!!
looking forward to your review of the video…
goals for 2010? figure out a schedule for working out and finding time to play with our child (eight months old today) before he goes to bed. mornings just don’t work for me. i’m too lazy (well, not too lazy to be able to get out of bed and RESET the alarm… but i digress.) anywho, always looking for new videos to try out…
Wow… Just read your tweet – I am feeling your pain and definitely intrigued. To all who have already posted your goals – my conscientious mental support to you!
Here are my goals for 2010:
* Journal my food every day, not just haphazardly like I did last year. (I am recommitting to this on a day by day basis, so I can pat my self on the back regularly)
* Get better at saying no – to people and to tempting food. I’m only going to eat it if it’s REALLY worth it, and then only a reasonable portion. (That’s the plan, anyway)
* Burn more calories by laughing more!
Alright I’m in. (Those are some awesome arms!)
My goals:
1. Be more present in all I do.
2. Have more fun.
3. Get back on the fitness track.
Diet Goals for 2010,
1. Read more about Golf. Hey, I know the eye muscles are small in the grand scheme of things, but a work out is a work out, right?
2. Talk about playing more Golf. I plan to talk really fast, so that’s got to be good for something.
3. Play more Golf. I plan to walk and not use a cart. Did you know that for a 6,700 yard course (average course length) if you walk directly from the Tee box to the Pin, that’s 3 ½ miles. Obviously, most of us don’t hit our balls directly from the tee to the pin, so there’s additional yardage to be added. The golf gurus say it’s more like 5 ½ miles for the average golfer, I stress, “average”. So in my case it’s probably more like 6 or 7 miles. So my NEW Diet is Golf! For some reason, my wife’s not buying it. I even told her I’d “walk fast” and she’s still not buying it. What’s up with that?
I’m training for a half marathon, which is happening in April. I don’t know what my goal is after that. More variety, maybe? I do 4 hours of yoga a week (1 hour classes, 4 days a week) and I’m running between 10 and 15 miles per week (revving up, though, next week will be between 15 and 17).
So hey, an exercise DVD might be just what the doctor ordered! Sign me up! Thanks!
I’m in, too!
My goals for 2010:
start exercising!
start scrapping again
catch up with my blog
have more me time!
I am so happy for you and am celebrating with you–you know, the way we celebrate everything here–through digits and imagination!
Your blog is a gift to all of us but you, Rebecca and Robin, are way more amusing than you have the right to be! Punish yourself by continuing to blog. Please! I insist
Happy Anniversary! I’m truly grateful you both started this blog!
My fitness goals for this year are to maintain my loss for 2nd year and to have fun doing it!
Goal…Goal…let’s see…Hmmmm…well, I must have one….OK…CANNOT give up the Diet Coke…less chips, more veggies…Yea, that’s it…less chips, more veggies
I can’t wait to hear what the DVD was like. I have always wanted to have toned arms like this!! I do weights, but I don’t think it is enough or I am not doing the right exercises.
Love these blogs each day. After a stressful day, it makes me laugh!!!
Goals:
1. Exercise the minimum of THREE times per week; tone up problem areas.
2. Drink more water.
3. Journal more……that will keep me from emotional eating, which is my problem.
4. Maintain the 15 lbs loss I already have attained.
5. Laugh more, stress less (not a fitness goal, but it will help with stress levels!)
Keep up the good work on the blog!! I look forward to it each and every day!!!
Love your blog…congrats on two years and keep it coming!
My goal for 2010 is to get in better shape, not by drastic measures, but by small sensible measures which will hopefully add up. I will repeat the following mantra as often as necessary: “I can’t keep doing the same things and expect different results”. This mantra goes not only for eating but for other areas of my life as well.
Love to read your blog. Cannot wait to hear about the DVD. I have heard it is hard. We shall see. My goals for 2010 are to exercise more, more fruits in my diet and lose those last 20 lbs.
I look foward to your wit and wisdom daily!
My goals for 2010:
1. to complete a 1/2 marathon (notice I did not say win – COMPLETE)
2. to reach lifetime status with weightwatchers – only 27 lbs to go
3. participate in PALM (Peddle Across Lower Michigan) bike tour in June with my sister.
Goals:
1. End the soda addiction (day 22 and counting, still missing it fiendishly)
2. Resume walking routine (day 3 and counting; it’s cold in Wisconsin in January!)
3. Try one new veggie recipe each week (check)
4. Survive my 50th (like Gayle above). Gads.
Goals for 2010:
1. Run a 5k this summer. Contemplate a 10k by fall.
2. End 2010 healthier than I started it.
3. Enjoy my life as it is now, instead of waiting for it to be perfect.

My Goals for this year are to continue pursuing and drawing closer and closer to my goals for last year; a slimmer and HEALTHIER me.
I would LOVE Ripa arms, because right now, I have Oprah arms!
in 2009, I lost 35 pounds, so my #1 goal in 2010 is to reach my target weight, which is another 15 pounds away. Also, continue working out at least 3 days per week.
Lastly, I have GOT to get more organized. For goodness sake, I write workbooks for people to organize their information for thier caregivers, and write guest articles on how to be more organized. You’d think I could practice a little of what I preach!

In 2009 I quit smoking after 30+ years. Then a couple of family crisis completely derailed my fitness routine. In 2010 I will lose the 30+ pounds I gained in 2009 and regain the confidence I had with my regular routine. I have already made friends again with my select tech weights and I am on my way!
I just recently found your blog via twitter – and I am here to laugh it off with you! Happy Anniversary!
My goals for 2010 are
lose an additional 30 pounds
run a 5k in less than 30 minutes
play outside and be active more with my kids
I love the blog! I hope it is around for a long time.
My goals for 2010 are: keep losing weight in a slow and manageable way, finally finish the couch to 5k program (i’ve started and stopped a couple times) and sign up for my first 5k, travel someplace new and don’t sweat the small stuff!
My weight loss goal for 2010 you ask……..
Stop at half dozen cookies per sitting rather than a full dozen, and realize that it is, indeed, okay to NOT balance the sweet with salty. Much like those who must smoke when they drink, I find I must eat CHEEZ-ITS with hot fudge. I must eat FUNYONS (yes! I said it!) with a brownie.
I can do it, Duffy Moon…I can do it!!
have to keep laughing.
My 2010 goal is to really, really concentrate on getting healthier by,
