Hopefully you’re all working on maintaining focus on the specific goal of losing five pounds. Focus on Five is going fairly well on this end with both of your friendly neighborhood bloggers nearing a five pound loss. We’ll let you know Wednesday how we’re doing!

Inhale-Exhale-Did I leave the curling iron on? Wait Inhale-Exhale..

What we’ve been noticing is that we have attention deficit in the diet department and the FOCUS part has been just as difficult as the losing FIVE part. So we’re going to spend a moment here meditating on meditation. Here’s this week’s newspaper column all FOCUS!

Lately I’ve been concerned about my attention span. Tweeting, Facebooking, flipping through the channels, applying mascara at stop lights — all of it is frazzling my focus.
My brain has a difficult time settling down. If you were to read the ticker tape in there, it would say … Better get to the post office — Ooh, Mega Millions is up to $89 million — We need a new couch — I like Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop Tarts — Do the kids have practice today? — I miss Patrick Swayze … and on and on.
While “multi-tasking” sounds like a laudable goal, I’m concerned that my inability to give total attention to anything without falling asleep is detrimental to everything from my plans for world domination to loading the dishwasher.
