Holy Week and the Too Fat Polka
I think I’m going to loop this all day Sunday. If I’m heading for a second helping of the cheesy potatoes (or first), for the peeps or cadbury eggs (which really don’ttaste that good…admit it), the cheesecake, the fluffy orange whipped jello thing my mother-in-law makes (she makes a green one too), the sweet potato casserole that I’m going to make (‘cuz I’m evil like that)…I will watch this.
Here are the lyrics if you want to sing along.
Also…my favorite part about this video are the two Johns. Hey!

I might have scared my co-workers by singing along (and aloud).
It’s the BEST SONG EVER! My Grandpa used to sing it to me. (um..hmm…that might be something right there)
Oooh, also…that was Greta. Still working out the little ticks on the new site. I keep logging in as some sort of GretaKiki, Jeff Goldblum/Fly entity. Gotta fix that.
Great…I mean Greta
‘Tis a toe tapper to be sure. HEY!
(did you get where the guy was impersonating Fat Albert, I bet dey had da pay extra fer dat)
My roommate brought me a half-dozen Cadbury Eggs a few nights ago ’cause I mentioned I would like one last week when my blood sugar crashed. With friends like that…
I do like them, but it has something to do with the texture, not the flavour. Yes, I do believe I am part alien.
Meanwhile, I am cooking a leg of lamb on Sunday because I can’t pull free of the gravity-well of family tradition. At least it’s lean.
Shade and Sweetwater,
K
Me no like’a da’ polka tangs … unlessin’ it dun’ be Polka Floyd!
I think Polka is quirky and kinda like it. But I also take offense to ANY song referring to fat ladies. LOL I would get SO mad at my husband for turning up the radio when ‘Fat Bottom Girls’ came on. He didn’t understand that I felt he was aiming the speakers at my own chubby cheeks (not on the face). Yeah, I used to be terribly sensitive to those sort of things. But here’s true irony….on blogthings, my karaoke song is ‘I Like Big Butts’ LOL I even took issue with Donkey from Shrek because this was his song at the Karaoke Swamp Party!!
Ya, like the two johns are all that and a bag of chips.
I can’t stop listening…or laughing.
My Grandpa used to have the Arthur Godfrey version of this on a 45 (I think it was Arthur Godfrey…hafta google).
Ouch… had to suck being the inspiration for this little diddy.
LOL…it was weird to see people dancing to it thought.
I’m sitting here trying to decide if I’m amused or offended. Although, how offended can I really be when I refer to “Fat-Bottomed Girls” as my theme song?
Hilarious! That made my day. I wonder if the people dancing are even listening to the words.
