Falling Off the Diet Wagon

8

I swear this is what happened yesterday. All of May we were good diet girls. Six weeks of good choices trashed in one day.
Diet Wagon
off the diet wagon

Trying mightily to pull it back together today. We’re drinking water and NOT checking our weight. Or should we?  What do YOU do to stop a backslide? We mean it has to stop RIGHT NOW. How is it possible to ruin weeks of good with a couple days of bad? Urgh….

It’s not what you do ONE DAY that’s the problem (or the solution). It’s what you do EVERY DAY.

    1) Don’t weigh in, if you haven’t already. Give yourself a few days to level out… otherwise you see that 5+ pound spike and you ditch the diet.

    2) Drink water

    3) get extra potassium. (bananas, broccoli, etc) Potassium binds with salt and helps flush that extra salt and water weight out.

    4) Don’t worry. This is a lifestyle change, not a diet. The bad thing about it is that it’s awkward to say, hard to type, and sounds overly PC. The good thing about it – you have your WHOLE LIFE to get it right. There’s no deadlines ;-)

  2. One thing I’ve learned is that one (or three) setbacks doesn’t define me. The overall effort is what counts most! So, six weeks trumps one day, easily and emphatically.

Wouldn’t it be nice if those wagons came with seatbelts? :)

Also, I might suggest not riding with your feet dangling over the edge. That could be dangerous. :)

Please! Listen to Cammy! Do not dangle your feet over the edge!

  4. I struggle with this myself. I too often fall off and figure while I am down on the ground behind the wagon I might as well eat everything I can get my hands on! But over time I am staying on more and more and falling off less and for shorter periods of time.
