52 Mondays – Nintendo Wii Fit Long Time User

We’re hopping from diet to diet to see what we like and don’t like. But we do know consistency is key. SO along with our quicky look at everything under the sun we’re also introducing you to people who are tru devotees. This week meet Sandra. She loves her Wii Fit. Check out her blog Thoughts on Food and Fitness from a Regular Girl. And follow her on Twitter at @BlondeGirlRuns – here’s Sandra’s take on Wii Fit.

What do you like about Wii Fit?
I love the BMI and weight tracking. I’ve done the daily Body Test for almost 2 years and I love being able to see the graph that shows my progress. I’ve lost 60 pounds since I started using it!  I also really like the entire yoga workout.

How often do you use it?
I use the Wii Fit almost every day–at least for the Body Test. The only exceptions are days that I’m on vacation and out of town. I also try to get in yoga and balance activities as much as possible.

What kind of results do you get from it?
For me, it’s much more about accountability and being able to see my progress. Some people don’t like to see the tiny daily fluctuations, but I like it. If I’m heavier, I know that I need to evaluate my food and exercise habits.

Is there support for it? Where? What would you recommend?
I’ve never had to use support, so I don’t know. If something goes wrong with anything, I usually start with the Internet – Googling the problem to see if anyone else has dealt with it. Then I’d probably go to the Nintendo website and search for support.

Anything else we should know?
I don’t think that the Wii Fit itself is an effective weight loss plan. I think it’s PART of a plan. You aren’t ever going to find me choosing the run in place workout over an actual run outside or even on a treadmill. It’s great to break up boredom. It’s great to work on balance. It’s fun. It’s GREAT to track progress.
