I Am a Sh@tty Mom

There’s a new book out that I wish I wrote called Sh*tty Mom: The Parenting Guide for the Rest of Us
. It’s spelled like that. The chapters titles alone resonate with me on a level that Eat, Pray, Love could never reach.

I try to be the best mom I can but I am a Sh@tty Mom. I am not ashamed.  If you say you’re good mom, GREAT.  We’re just not going to be friends and that’s okay because you’re a liar.

Sh@tty Moms keep it real. Do you recognize yourself in these chapter titles? I do.

Chapter 37 – Miss Work Without Saying it’s Because of Your Sick Kid

One day my son was sick so I called in. Keep in mind I had taken a total of three sick days in a decade i.e. I always showed up. From that policy change moment on it was miraculous! My children were never sick again!

And neither were any of my parent co-worker friends. I however did have to call in when I had Fifth Disease, pink eye, and complications due to puberty.

Chapter 12 – Organized Sports Might be Great for the Kids, but they Suck for You

One of my most favorite organized sports moments happened in pee wee football…..keep reading.
